TEST AVERAGES

The England batsman, K. T. Barrington, headed the batting aggregate and the averages in the beet series between Australia and England. Barrington finished the test series with an aggregate of 381 runs—the highestby an England batsman since W. R. Hammond made 906 in 1938-29. His aggregate for the tour, 1451 runs, was also the highest since Hammond’s 1333 runs In 1928-29. A. K. Davidson, the Australian fast bowler, with 34 wickets, was the leading wicket-taker, followed by FT. Titmus with 11 wickets and F. E. Trueman and G. McKenzie with 20 wickets.
