WELLINGTON, Feb. 21
Kerridge-Odeon has given £lOOO to the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council which is to be set up to commemorate the Royal visit.
It is the first contribution in response to the appeal for funds.
“This is a magnificent contribution,” said the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) today. Mr Holyoake said Sir Robert Kerridge’s gesture was in addition to his considerable contribution towards the Arts Advisory Council’s re cent presentation in Auckland of “A Unicorn for Christmas.”
A total of £B5OO would go to the council’s funds as a result of the co-operative efforts of the Arts Advisory Council, the New Zealand Opera Company, and Sir Robert Kerridge. “This is a most encouraging start to the appeal,” he said.
