FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.— A depression centred east of Otago is moving away. Forecast:—

Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh southerly winds; cloudy to overcast with occasional rain; temperatures becoming cooler. Marlborough.—Fresh southerly winds; overcast and cool with periods of rain.

Nelson.—Moderate winds from a southerly quarter; occasional showers with increasing fair periods; moderate temperatures.

Buller and Westland.—Moderate south to southwest winds; partly cloudy weather with moderate temperatures.

Outlook.—All districts: partly cloudy CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
