World Surplus Of Tea Soon?

The “Financal * Times’* today said that unless the Chinese occupied Assam this (northern) spring. there could weM be signs of a world surplus of tea before the end of 1963. "The fact that the biggest potential markets are either in their own countries.or else on their borders where large sales can usually only bo made by barter is not much comfort to the tea-producing countries.” the newspaper said. “It looks « tf the task of converting tea into badlyneeded foreign exchange will continue to be a difficult one for some years to come.”
