Fast Spruit In Training "The Press" Special Service _ DUNEDIN, February 38. Seaand showed her fitnete for the Autumn Handicap, the second teg of the Dunedin Jocks/ Club’s TAB. double, with a brilliant trial at Wtngatui this morning. The track was last after light overnight rain. The trecUas were w fest out which made the trial all the more impres- , ’,- K *E’ •» a Gracafields Price (B. D. ColUna) wore to have galloped half a mile, but Seaend was keen to work and she broke away near the six furlongs. Running the first two furlongs in 23 4-&sec they completed furlongs in Imln If Seaend came to no harm from the gallop she should be prominent in the sprint todiiy. Gracefield's Price is a brilliant track worker but her race form has been disappointing. From a barrier start at the seven furlongs the two-year, olds, Natavia (R. J. Skelton) end Sweet Solaris (B. D. Collins) dashed over three furlongs in 38 4-Ssec after taking 13 1-Ssec for the opening furiong. They are rival candidates for the Dunedin Handicap. Sweet Soleria has not been placed in her three races.
A filly by Pictavia, Natavia is due to have her first race. Vault (C. T. Wilson) sprinted three furlongs on the inside crass in 3»sec. This Royal Commission colt led the hack milers to the furlong at Riccarton last week. He is the early favourite for the Trial
Believe Me (M. J. Turnbull), which is standing up well in a fresh preparation, ran over the same ground in 40sec and this time was equalled by his stablemate, First Mink (R. J Skelton).
First Mink, which showed consistent form last season. Is due to resume racing tn the Central Improvers’ Handicap.
