(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. February 30. Japan ta anxious to repeat the successful visit to Now Zsatend of a marathon-running group. However. Mr A. L. Lydsard after being approached by the Japanese Athletic Federation for hl; coaching services, has advised Japan that he is unable to assist again. The Japanese group visited New Zealand last September. Mr Aoki, secretory of the federation, had proposed that seven runners and two coaches Visit New Zealand for June and July.

Aftar receiving Mr Lydtard s reply. Japan has asked K another coach can help. ''Last year the Japanese took Moi my spare time for six said Mr Lydtard today. “And also the time of my runners. I cannot afford to go through it all again. I hope some other coach is in a better position."

At the end ot their visit to Auckland last spring the Japanese took the first three Places to the Auckland marathon. After their return T. Tenasawa won the Aoshi international marathon and last Saturday ran the worids fast, eat marathon of 3hr 18mm 153 sec.
