ATTACK ON WOMAN
Beaten In Home By Intruder
(N.Z. Pres* Association) HAMILTON. Feb. 20. A woman in Tokoroa was attacked in her home and brutally battered about the heed early this morning. She is Mrs June West, aged 23, of Papanui street Her husband was at work, and she was alone in the house with her three infant children. An intruder entered through the kitchen window and it appears that when Mrs West was waking up she was battered with a piece of 6in by 2in timber. She was found wandering in the backyard of her home by a neighbour. Mrs West was treated by a doctor for severe shock, and bruises on the right side of her head, her face, hands, and arms. The police suspect that the motive was robbery.
