F. S. TRUEMAN INJURED

(N2. Press Asen.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 20.

England's fast bowler, F. S. Trueman, faces a race against time to be fit for the first test against New Zealand in Auckland, starting on Saturday.

Trueman is suffering from a strained left thigh muscle. He bowled three overs in the final test against Australia today, capturing the wicket of R. Simpson. However, he operated from a reduced run and his leg appeared to "go” on him in the third over, for he bowled the final delivery standing at the bowling crease. He then left the field. The opening batsman,’ G. Pullar, will not be coming to New Zealand. He will fly back to Britain with D. A. Allen, T. W. Graveney and J. B. Statham.

Pullar has a leg injury which prevented him from playing in the fifth test.
