rpHE organisers of the A Borrowed Timers’ Golf Club—whose membership is restricted to players over 70 years—are hoping that the entry for the second annual tournament at Shirley on Monday will be twice that of last year. But, more important, they hope that

ait least one woman will admit to being 70 and so prevent a repetition of Last year’s all-male event. A field of 35, with some players coming from as far as Timaru and Geraldine, successfully launched the club at toe first tournament This year’s event will follow similar lines—lo holes of stroke play and a variety of competitions—but an added attraction will be the presentation of a trophy, the Vintage Cup, by the club’s president (Mr J. Dolph). The members of the club include some notable names in sport: H. R. Blair, B. B. Wood and J. dements, three great golfers of the past and Phil OShea, the
