Croquet 3-3 For N.Z. In Croquet Test
(N.Z. Prtn Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Feb. 15. Although winning only one of the two singles, New Zealand finished the second day of the third croquet test match with Australia. 3-3, at New Plymouth today. Except for one of the singles, which proved almost a walkover, today’s rubbers proved close. The match ends tomorrow. Results were:—
Doubles.—L. Middlemiss and R. H. Browne (New Zealand) beat Mrs H. Day and A. E. Saalfleld (Australia), 22-26, 26-17, 26-21. Singles.—L. Mason (Australia) beat A. G. F. Ross (New Zealand). 26-2. 26-1; Mrs E. Rudder (Australia) beat H. C. Ford (New Zealand). 26-9, 26-15; A. J. Stephens (New Zealand) beat Mrs C. H. Cathcart (Australia), 36-6, 36-9.
