OFFICIAL REPORT

The official report issued by the Christchurch Woolbroker’s Association in conjunction with the Wool Buyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Conunision, states: — "The second portion of the fourth Christchurch wool sale was held yesterday at the Repertory Theatre when a further 28.467 bales were submitted. The condition of the wool was very similar to that sold on Wednesday with comparatively few super lot* and a large percentage of good average lines. Some of the back country clips were showing a fair amount of dust and discolouration but there were many good useful sorts. It was noticeable that some otherwise good lot* suffered through faulty classing and skirting. "The sale opened firmly with good and fairly general competition from a full bench of buyers. Continental buyers were again to the fore with support from Bradford on lots suitable to their requirements. Local mills took some of the best of the fine wools and Japan was also operating As compared with Wednesday's sale we quote ’Merino wool unchanged, fine halfbreds up to 21 per cent lower, medium halfbreds 2} per cent lower, fine and medium crossbreds in buyers’ favour, and coarse crossbreds unchanged. The market was a little Irregular at times. AU classes of piece wools were firm. "There was almost a full clearance at auction and the wool commission was not called on to support the market.” Following Is the official range of prices:— d. d.
