'Africans Would Be Stateless '

More than one million Africans would become “stateless” in their own country if a South African draft bill became law, the Johannesburg newspaper, “World,” said yesterday. The newspaper, with predominantly African readers, said that under the Bantu Legislation Amendment Bill, Africans would be able to “remain in ‘white’ areas, constituting 87 per cent of the country, for the purpose of labour only. . . .** The bill still needs Cabinet approval before being submitted to Parliament
