Federation Move
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DAMASCUS, Feb. 14. Syria today formally announced that it was prepared to federate with revolutionary Iraq, the Associated Press reported. Syria’s Foreign Minister. Dr. Assaad Mahassen. said in a statement that Syria now say no reason against establishment of a federation. This, he said, would stand as “a nucleus and a model for a pan-Arabian federation comprising all Arab countries.”
Syria has more than 700 miles of common frontier with Iraq.
