BULLDOZER BUOYED
Covered By Rubble
Two Lyttelton Harbour: Board divers yesterday found: the 15-ton bulldozer which I was lost when the reclamation embankment east of, Gladstone pier subsided on i Thursday The bulldozer is almost buried in rubble and mud. and the divers. Messrs C Subritsky and M. Tasker, could only see the blade, hand gears and driving compartment. They marked the bulldozer by a buoy, and a salvage attempt has been planned for Monday. Mr M L. Jones, the reclamation project engineer, said yesterday that a grab crane would probably be used to scoop away the rubble and mud between the embankment and the bulldozer before an attempt was made to secure it by wire cables The embankment might have to be sloped to make an easier passage for the bulldozer when it was hauled ashore.
If the haulage attempt failed, the floating crane Rapaki might be used, Mr Jones said.
