A vacant seation of 31 perches with a frontage of 67 feet to Hands road, Christchurch, was sold for £5OO at public auction yesterday. The auctioneer was Mr C. Robertson. Bidding started at £lOO There were eight £5O bids. The land, which is zoned Industrial C, was sold under The Rating Act, 1928, for non-payment of rates. The government valuation is £775. The rates are £7 4s Id.
A two-year-old concrete block veneer plastered bungalow with a tiled roof at 57 Ensign street. Halsweil, was sold for £2900. The auctioneer was Mr C. Robertson. There was only one bid. The bungalow comprises three bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining alcove, and bathroom.
It was a mortgagee’s sale. A square wooden house with an iron roof at 37 Port Hills road, Heathcote, was sold for £l4OO. The auctioneer was Mr D. Ohapmah. The property was offered on account of the estate of Rose Westbrooke. Bidding started at £ 1200. There were two bids of £lOO.
The house comprises three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, pantry and bathroom. There are also two sheds on the section of 23 perches. The rates are £l3 7s lid.
