A Ann in Auckland is now converting Thames 15cwt vans into a hire fleet of Sunliner mobile caravans. The van has a high roof to give good headroom. It is fully furnished with a chest of drawers, wardrobe, gas cooker, sink and bench. The vehicle sleeps four and an extra shelter for four more persons can be attached to the side of the van.
General Motors has announced that it will set up manufacturing facilities in West Berlin in the near future. Parts will be made for the plants of Adam Opel A.G.
A Belgian company is to build Russian Volga cars and fit them with British diesel engines, both Perkins and Rover. The Rover company has contracted to supply 1488 21-litre diesel engines, and it is believed contracts are being arranged with the Perkins tan.
