SNELL BEATEN.—J. Grelle (United States) heads for the tape to beat P. G. Snell (New Zealand) in the mile event at an international indoor meeting at Los Angeles recently. It was the first time the world record-holder had been beaten in a mile race since 1969. Grelle’s time was 4min 4.7sec. Snell clocked 4min 6.4sec. C. Weisiger (United States), was third.
