The Minister of Housing (Mr Rae) said tonight that the Porirua State house tenant visited by the Queen was “not a normal State house applicant” The tenant’s home was a* inducement to come to New Zealand to work for the Government he said. The tenant was paying * higher rent than normal State house tenants. He was engaged on th* Stat* housing project at Porirua. “It will be seen that this was an allocation under a special scheme, and not on* waich affected the normal State house applicant,” Mr Rae said.
