Sales Drive In Australia
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. A two-wef ks’ sales drive on Australian markets would be undertaken by a trade mission which would leave New Zealand on April 28, the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) said today. Most of the 25 or 30 in the mission would be manufacturers and would have the fullest backing of the Government, he said.
The mission would be led by Mr G. W. Lane, general manager of the Mosgiel Woollen Company, Dunedin, and the mission’s secretary would be Mr H. E. J. Martin, assistant general secretary of the Manufacturers' Federation.
Mr Marshall said the membership of the mission was not yet final, but the response showed that a wide range of New Zealand products would be offered for sale in Australia.
It was expected that representatives of the timber and fishing Industrie*, stock and station agent* and banking and travel interest* would also join the mission. The mission would be accompanied by Mr E. J. Sutch, representing the Department of Industrie* and Commerce, and Mr A. Malcolmson, of thq Tourist and Publicity Department, who would be the mission's publicity and public relation* officer.
