FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred near the Chatham Islands extends on to New Zealand. A stationary depression lies near Lord Howe Island. Forecast:—

Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate north-east to easterly winds in Marlborough, fresh about the Kaikoura coast; elsewhere winds light to moderate and variable; fine with mild to warm day temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy. Canterbury, Buller and Westland.—Moderate east to north-east winds about the Canterbury coast, occasionally fresh in the afternoon; elsewhere winds light tp moderate and variable; fine with mild day temperatures.
