Robertson.

A very creditable performance was given by S. Porter (skip) and A. Black, who won tire Linwood Bowling Club’s pains championship. Onigjinelly Porter was partnered with the former Canterbury representative, K. Willtie, but after the first few games W ilkie became ill and was taken to Burwood Hospital. Wilkie is still in hospital. The club’s singles champion has now reached the semi-final stage. Porter and S. Mr Priest to a member of the New Brighton Club.

Singles matches in the Opawa Bowling Club's championships are now nearing the final stages. R. Allison has reached the semi-final. D. Vaughan, K. Murray, and R. Madsen have yet to play to decide who will meet Allison in the final. It was unfortunate that C. Rowe had to withdraw from the singles because of ill-health, as he still had two lives left. Had he continued, he would undoubtedly have been hard to beat. I. Sellers beat R. Green, 25-12, in the final of the colts' championteip, fin-

Templeton (skip), also won the club pain championship. Runners-up were J. Steven and'T. Sheridan (skip). The final of the Barrington Club’s pairs championship was played recently between two of the club's most experienced skips, A. Blakeway, with A. Morris as lead, and H. Gibbons, with M. Robinson leading. Very few points separated the teams at any stage throughout the game and the struggle for supremacy was undivided at the completion of the twenty-first end. Blakeway had preferred shorter ends and was fortunate in winning the toss for the extra end. Four extra ends were necessary before finally Blakeway held the winning shot. He had burned two of the extra ends while his . opponent had burned one. This game will long be remembered by a good muster of club members. Blakeway has scored a "hat trick’* in the pairs final, having also won this competition for the two previous seasons with Morris also as lead last year. The colts competition has been won at Barrington by J. White, who was also the winner last season.
