Further Gains In Quieter Market
Share trading in New Zealand subsided yesterday from the previous day’s high level. The number of shares traded totalled 87, compared with 96 on Tuesday and with 86 the previous Wednesday. The market was very steady, 59 issues being unchanged.
Carter Consolidated, Fanners’ Fertiliser and Rothmans made the best gains among New Zealand shares. Alex Harvey B showed the only sharp reverse.
Colonia] Sugar rose a further 6d to 49s 6d. Other Australian shares were mainly steady.
