MINOR FIRES
Slight damage was done to a switchboard in a house at 160 Cashel street when it caught fire about 12.20 p.m. yesterday. Wiring was also damaged. The occupier of the house is Ronald Burgess. Three engines from the Central station attended.
A grass fire in the grounds of the St. Albans Bowling Club, St. Albans street, about 4 p.m. was extinguished by one engine from the Central station and one from St. Albans. There was no damage.
About 4.10 p.m. grass in Christchurch City Council property in Kibblewhite street, New Brighton, caught fire. Two units from New Brighton answered the call, and there was no damage.
