EPIC SWIM.—The Foveaux Strait conqueror, John van Leeuwen, and two of his pacers from the Oreti Surf Club, emerge from the inky blackness of the Southland night to make their landfall at Murray River Point, Stewart Island. Van Leeuwen’s swim lasted nearly 14 hours.
