TWO MEN KILLED

Gunman Sought Near Perth (N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) PERTH. February 11. Police wounded a man, aged 23. in a gun duel in dense scrub at sunset last night, after a 26-hour hunt for the killer of a policeman and another man. A civilian was also wounded by shotgun pellets in the scrub shooting. A 100 police and thousands of civilians armed with shotguns and rifles had cordoned the scrub at Morley, seven miles from Perth. A policeman and another man had been shot dead by a wild gunman at Belmont suburb on Saturday. Immediately after the shooting the gunman escaped in a taxi with the gun levelled at the driver’s head. The victims were Constable Noel Isles. married, of Bavaria street, Belmont, and Mr Andrew McDougall, aged 37, of 17 Maida Vale road, Belmont. Constable Isles had been called to a house in Belmont after an argument there. After he had been shot, the gunman apparently tried to force Mr McDougall out of a car. When he refused, he, too, was shot.
