POSITIVE SWAB
Y oung Pedro Disqualified (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, Feb. 12. The prominent Adelaide trotting owner, trainer and reinsman L. Hunt, aged 60, and the winner of the 1959 Inter-Dom-inion Championship. Young Pedro, were disqualified for three years by the South Australian Trotting League stewards today. The penalties were imposed after the completion of an inquiry into the positive swab *aken from Young Pedro after he won the A.N.A. Cup at Wayville (Adelaide) on January’ 26. Young Pedro, winner of 23 races and nearly £24.000 in stake money, was to have contested this year’s Inter-Dominion series. He broke down badly In a race at Wayville a week before the series opened. Hunt then announced that the horse would not race again.
