MADRAS STREET BRIDGE

Fire Board Seeks Improvement When the new Madras street bridge was planned, consideration should be given to reducing the acute angle of approach on the south-eastern abutment, the Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board suggested to the City Council last evening. When making the proposal, Mr W. E. Olds said that in almost every case of a fire call tp the north and northwest of the city, brigade units used the bridge.
