Aerial Spray Blamed
(From Owr Own Reporter) TIMARU, January 31. An aerial spray is blamed by Mr R. D. Teahen. of Arowhenua. for his family becoming ill and a horse on his fa-rm dying
Mr Teahen said tonight that a fortnight before the horse. Silent Hall, a five-year-old mare, died, about 50 acres of wheat and barley on his 300-acre property had been sprayed from the air for aphids. It was the first time he had used such a method of spraying. After the mare died, he and his four children were iIL a youth employed on the farm also complained of thirst, dizziness and sick heedaches, and a two-year-old gelding by Fallacy became sick and showed signs of poisoning. The flock ot 000 sheep had not gone forward at aH. This time last year he had 30 lambs left on the property, but ibis year there were still 300 Mr Teahen said he was unable to obtain a veterinarian when the mare died The vegetable garden had been saturated and after the mare had died the family, suspecting poisoning, stopped eating vegetables from the garden.
