N.Z. HISTORY PRIZE
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 31.
A prize of £lOO will be awarded annually to a student of Auckland University by the Auckland City Council as the city’s gift to commemorate the visit by the Queen next week.
The prize will be awarded each year during the life of the council. It will be won by the student gaining highest marks in the history of New Zealand and its Imperial. Commonwealth and foreign relations and it will be known as the Queen Elizabeth II Prize. Bill For Special Session X (N.Z. Prefs Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 31. A bill to be introduced at the special session of Parliament to be opened by the Queen on February 12 may be that setting up the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council as a statutory body to foster culture and the arts, said a Parliamentary authority today. I. is planned that the council will be supported by Government and public subscriptions.
