Still Winning At 71

ROTORUA, January 31. Carl Atkinson, of Rotorua, world 220 yards breaststroke record holder in 1910, and New Zealand swimming champion over nearly every distance and every style between 1910 and 1924, returned to the winning rostrum last night. Mr Atkinson, aged 71, beat competitors almost a quarter of his age in the long plunge at the city celebrations swimm in g carnival. In 1912 he was a swimming finalist at the Olympic Games at Stockholm.
