Lieutenant-Commander D. W. Madison will be the United States Navy task force public information officer at Harewood next season. For a period be was an aid to Rear-Admiral G. J. Dufek and to Rear-Admiral D. M. Tyree. Commander J. S. Hahn who has held this post for the last two yean has bean posted as public information officer to the United States naval air station. New York.
Mr R. H. Stewart, president at the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, and Messrs R. G. Pearce and A. R. Cutler, vice-presidents of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, will attend a council meeting of the federation in Wellington next, Wednesday. The Canterbury association secretary (Mr R. T. Alston) and Mr B. R. Spence, of Timaru, branches representative, will also attend the council meeting.
