£2OOO In German Gifts
“The Prers* Special Service AUCKLAND, Jan. 30. Seventeen members of the Hamilton Turn and Gymnastic Circle who have been in Europe on a working holiday for nearly a year, have had their efforts in West Germany recognised by gifts of about £2OOO. .
The leader of the group, Mr Andras Pillich, was called to the telephone last week and told that the Federal Government had decided to present the group with between £1550 and £l6OO. Shortly afterwards another telephone call came with the news that an “interested supporter” had added £4OO. The gifts have been made in appreciation of the work the group has done with its gymnastic and Maori culture displays. In Europe the group has given more than 100 displays. Toward the end ot this year it was earning £lOO a time. The group left New Zealand in April. They made provision before they left to buy an old bus in Engl and and this has carried them through their travels.
