GLACIER IN DOCK
Screws To Be Replaced (N.Z. Prtn Association) WELLINGTON. Jan 30. The United States icebreaker Glacier once again rests in the Wellington floating dock after a rugged mouth smashing her way through the ice to McMurdo Sound. And once again she will have both screws replaced. The port-side screw has never been so badly damaged since she Irst made her Journeys to the Antarctic.
LteutetuuMDommander H. L Swope, the Glacier’s executive officer, said the ship bad cut a 83-mtie "road” through the ice this season. The Glacier will sail on February 7 for her last trip south this season.
