Ellerslie Club Race
(NZ Press Association) AUCKLAND. Jan. 36. What appears to be one of the best mile fields ever assembled in New Zealand has been gathered by invitation for the weekly Wellesley Shield meeting, conducted by the Ellerslie club on the Ellerslie Domain on Monday night. P. G Snell, anxious for a good “blow out" before his trip to Los Angeles, will meet J. L. Davies, the Empire Games silver medallist, who ran a time of 4:0.9 at Dunedin on Monday night. ———■ The others in the fine field will be W. D. Baillie, and N. I. Scott if he does not decide it would be unwise to run hard on his damaged foot Also included will be the place-getters tn the last New Zealand mile
championship. B. Cooper and K. McKinley, the highly-promising youngsters, K. McDeu and L Studd, and also V. Walker. J. Farmer. W. Hayblttle and D. Rae.
The track is being re-surveyed in case an outstanding time results. The race will be run at 9 pm.

LOB ANGEUDS (Oshforaia). The fourth annual Los Angeles Indoor games, at which the world's fastest mile runner, P. G. Snell, of New Zealand, will run on February 3, has been sold out. the competition director, Mr Glenn Dsvis. said today. He said he was deluged with ticket applications after it was announced Snail and the Russian high jump champion. V. Brumel. would compete. All 13,800 teats had been taken.
