New Chairman,
Manager
Mr George Gibson has been appointed chairman of the board of directors of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association of Canterbury, Ltd., to succeed the Ute Mr C. P. Agar. Mr T. A. MeKcliar will continue as vicechairman.
Mr Gibson, who has been general manager since 1950, will retire from that position tomorrow. He will be succeeded by Mr R. H. Clark, at present merchandise manager. Mr Gibson joined the association in 1925 and Mr Clark in 1927. COLES SALES UP, DIV. STEADY (NZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, Jan. 29. G. J. Coles and Company, Ltd., Australia-wide variety, supermarket and food chain, reported satisfactory increases in sales and profits for the half year to December 29. In today’s interim report, directors said that excellent results were obtained from the expanded food divisions operating in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
A steady interim dividend of 4 per cent, is payable on March 16.
