Two Wins To Wellington (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. January ». Wellington, revelling in the fresh conditions, made up tor her lapses of the day before and won the third and fourth races in the Sanders Cup yachting competition today. „, p ;. Bates is the skipper of the Wellington yacht. Vibrant (last year’s Sanders Cup winner, when sailed by P. Millar!. It was a day of upsets, many boats capsizing, some two or three times In a race. Southland had to withdraw from the third event when she was holed after a collision with Manawatu. She was repaired for the fourth race.
Because of protests, points after the first four races are not available.
Results:— Third Race.—Wellington 1, Otago 2, Bay of Plenty 8. Manawatu 4. South Canterbury and Taranaki capsized and retired.
Fourth Race.—Wellington 1, Bay of Plenty 2. Manawatu 3. Otago 4. Southland and Taranaki retired.
