N.Z. Scottish Regiment To Receive Colours
Regimental colours will be presented to the New Zealand Scottish Regiment by the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergumon) M ■ speciai ceremony at Linton Military Camp, near Palmerston North, on February 28. The cotours wM carry foe battle honours of foe New Zealand Divisional Cavalry, whose function as a reconnaiasance unit foe Scottish Regiment took over when it was reformed in 1949.
Former members of the Divisional Cavalry regiment are invited to attend the presentation of the colours. They should send forte names to foe secretary of the New Zealand Dtvtatonal Cavaky Aaeotiatton, Mr XT. H. WUeon, 21 Zetland street, Keiburn, Wettfagton, who wfll arrange for an kvrttotion to be sent

The affiliation is a pectic :- larly appropriate one in foe case of the Black Watch, as Sir Bernard Fergusson is a distinguished soldier of the Black Watch. His battalion of foe Bieck Watch fought in Burma during foe Chtodit campaigns of 1943-44, about which Sir Bernard Fergusaon wrote two of his beetknown books, “Beyond foe Chfadwin,” and “The Wild Green Earth.” The New Zealand Scottish Regiment was first raised as a volunteer territorial fatetty unit fa 1939, and served with the 15<h Brigade of foe 2nd NXEJ. in New Caledonia in 1942.
