Subject to the approval of local district senior inspectors of schools, any primary school could apply for a maximum subsidy of £211 to assist with the purchase of up to 10 violins, four 'cellos, two flutes, two clarinets, two trumpets, tour tenor recorders. four melodicas and 15 music stands.
