Outpatient Change
The specialist outpatient department* of the Christchurch Hospital will In future be closed on Saturday mornings, the medical superintendent-in-chief of the North Canterbury Hospital Board (Dr. T. Morton) said yesterday. Th* departments have until now been open on Saturday morning for redressing only, and this work will now be taken over by the casualty department, he said. Th* change waa on* result of a move to send patients back to their own doctors a* soon as possible. Dr. Morton explained. Because of th* new trend, the number of patients needing radrearing on Saturdays had fallen to such an extent that the casualty department should be able to cope with them quite comfortably.
