Commander J. P. S. Valiant. deputy chief of naval personnel in the Navy Office. Wellington, has been appointed commanding officer of HMKZ.S. Philomel. Auckland. He wil] take up the apoointment on February 18.—(PA.) Dr. A. W. Williams, senior lecturer in pathology in the University of Edinburgh, has beet, appointed professor of pathology at Otago Universky. He succeeds Professor E. F. D’Ath, who retired last year.—(PA.)
