The Chief of the Philippines Armed Forces. General A. Santos, said today he and President Soekamo of Indonesia were agreed the Brunei revolt last December was justified. General Santos, who arrived in Singapore after a six-day visit to Djakarta on the way to Saigon, did not elaborate A rebel representative said in Djakarta last Tuesday that 100.000 Indonesian volunteers were expected to respond to a call by Sheikh A. M. Azahart the leader of the revolt, “to crush the British Army in northern Borneo." Dr. Soekarno also shared the Brunei rebels’ opposition to British plans to include its Borneo territories with Singapore and Malaya tn the prooosed Federation of Malaysia. to be formed this year, the Associated Press said. The British plan was said to be seeu as an effort to thwart any Indonesian expansion in Borneo.
