DUNEDIN, Jan. 28. The Federation of Labour's proposal for an independent tribunal in the dispute over the dismissal of six workers who returned to work late from holidays is “still under consideration” by the management of the Dunedin tannery of Glendermid, Ltd. "ntis was announced by the managing-director (Mr H. L. Long bottom) today. At 12.30 p.m. there was a meeting in the Sawyers Bay Hall to acquaint Glendermid workers with the discussions with the federation in Wellington by representatives of the Otago-Southland Freezing Workers' Union and the Otago Trades Council, and to endorse actions of the union executive.

The resignation of Mr J Petterssen, president of the Glendermid branch of the union, was accepted but a decision would be made on the vacant leadership at a later meeting, said a representative of the board of control.

No meetings of the Glendermid union branch are scheduled for tomorrow.
