In addition to the above rates a minimum of £2 per week is payable in overtime. A full course of lectures is given to enable trainees to become State Registered Psychiatric Nurses. For Nurse Trainees 21 years and over the commencing weekly wage is £l3 15s 9d gross per week, plus £2 3s lOd penal payment. Where nurses elect to take two weeks’ leave after 51 months’ duty, a minimum of £2 7s per week is payable in overtime. Salary increments every 12 months to a maximum of £798 p.a. providing nurses are successful in their examinations. Where applicants do not wish to take their training they may be appointed as Assistant Nurses at a weekly salary of £9 14s 6d to £l2 9s 8d gross depending on age.
