N.Z. Wins At Sydney (N.Z. Prss, Association) SYDNEY. Jan. 25. A strong Sydney University tennis team provided hard opposition for the New Zealand University representatives when the tourists played their second match at the university today. New Zeeland won by 19 sets to 15 with eight matches each. .For JJ ew Zealand Universities, Miss C. Drummond gave the outstanding performance with an excellent win over Miss R. Bullied Miss Bullied, an Englishwoman, visited New Zealand briefly in 1966 and won the national women's doubles title with Miss R. Morrison Her play today was again good, but Miss Drummond played her very best tennis to concede only three games in two sets. She hit good length drives on both wings and had Mias Bullied constantly on the run. J. B. Souter was outplayed by the ranked Australian player. G. Pares, in the third set after some good tennis. Souter covered the court well, but Pares was too quick in the concluding stages. R N Hawkes won his singles easily, and the other New Zealand men lost in hard struggles. Birch. 3-6. 6-2, 4-6. Men', Double,.—Hawke, and Souter beat Pare, and Peetz, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4: Young and Walpole lost to O'Farrell and J. Davies. 6-2, 4-6, 2-6. Women's Doubles. Mines Drummond and Sutton beat Misses Bullied and Foreman. 11-9. 6-3; Mitras Potter and B Tietjens beat Misses Birch and A.
