CHURCHILL’S WRITINGS
1500 Items In Catalogue
(Special Crspdt. N.Z-P.A.)
LONDON, January 24. A book to be published next week catalogues every book, article, pamphlet, and letter ever written by Sir Winston Churchill.
The compiler is a 31-year-old recording company executive, Frederick Woods, who spent 6000 hours in six years to list 1500 items described in 340 closely-printed pages.
It starts in 1898 with the story of the Malakand Field Force, Lieutenant Churchill’s account of the frontier war, and end* with a 1961 letter supporting Lord Srtansgate in his effort to remain a commoner.
Wood said he estimated Sir Winston Churchill’s earnings from writing, including foreign royalties and very profitable serial rights of such things as bis history of the Second World War, must come close to £4 million.
