Nell Wins Again Neil rounded off a good double for the meeting with a game win against the hack sprinters to the Kaltoke Handi cap. Mr P. Davis's Knight's Romance fitly led for the last five furlongs, and survived a challenge from Orokawa winning by a neck. Bichette was a fair third, and Manulla a meritorious fourth after being at the tail of the field on the turn.

The favourite. El Baruk. went down gingerly to his preliminary, and dropped out of a trailing position on the turn, finishing 13th.
