Appleton. of Auckland, drove his speedboat Elray to win the New Zealand unlimited hydroplane championship. tne feature event on the opening day of the Rotoiti and Marlborough Power Boat Club's combined two-day regatta at Lake Rotoiti on Saturday. An outstanding performance In the race was given by J. Keig, of Ashburton, tn his tiny outboard. Moonahot. He was ISsec behind the field crossing the start line but came through the field to take second place nearly half a lap behind Elray.
