Marlborough Beaten
(N.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. January 27. Wairarapa has won the right to challenge Nelson next season for the Hawke Cup. The two-day cricket match against Marlborough at Masterton ended in a first innings win for the home side. Scores:— Wairarapa: First innings 313 (R. Small 155, K. Master 65 not out; G. Bartlett four for 48); second innings 269 tor nine declared (M. Wilkinson 67, R. Davies 65; Guy four for 47. Bartlett two for 14).
Marlborough: First innings 223 (I. Blackmore 48, G. Bartlett 68; D. Biss five for 57. Wilkinson three for 54). Second innings 163 for four (Guy 100 not out).
Beef Judge.—Mr J. L. Herrick, of the Tautane stud, Hawke’s Bay, has been appointed an Aberdeen Angus judge at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.—(P.A.)
