Caught In Rip

AUCKLAND, January 27. Three young men who tried to swim to the aid of a couple caught to a rip at Muriwal Beach got into difficulties themselves and had to be brought to shore by the Muriwai Surf Life-saving Chib this afternoon. Mr and Hrs B. Williams, of Kelston, got into difficulties beyond the breaks* about 3 pm. when the tide was on tee ebb. The first persons to notice them were three young men who immediately swam out to give them assistance. They found teat they, too. wire not strong enough to swim against the rip tide carwtod them out to sea. ! The alarm was given by Mr N. Whiteman, a suf club member who was swimming nearby. He swam to the group in diAcuities to give Ms Mb X* the club petrol on tbs oeacn rusneu ■ Miunan out followed by a water ski with a paddle board in support
