AIRLINES IN S.-E. ASIA
Three Pool Services (N.Z.P .A.-Reuter— Copyright) BANGKOK, Jan. 9. The Malayan Airways, Thai Airways International, and Cathay Pacific Airways today signed an agreement pooling their services. The agreement was widely regarded in Bangkok as the first step towards a regional airline envisaged by Malaya. Thailand and the Philippines —the three members of the association of South-east Asia. The chairman of the boards of directors of the three airlines signed the agreement, which was said to be the most extensive ever attempted in the Far East. Under the agreement, the revenues of the three airlines will be pooled and certain other services will be shared on the routes between Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore, involving 58 flights weekly.
